The Great Groundhog Day Storm of 2009

The last week of January, we started hearing weather forecasts that sounded like Armageddon – initially, they were calling for 1-2 feet of snow in our area, then 8-10 inches, then 6 inches, then 4, then 3, then 2…and it felt a little like we were watching a bad aerobics tv show from the 80s.  

We ended up with maybe an inch and a half, when all was said and done, but of course everything shut down for at least one day, and in some cases two or three. Silly.  But it sure was pretty:
