Little Yellow One

We were walking around downtown this weekend, on our way to the library.  We cut through the alley between Clementine’s and the bike shop, crossing the bridge over Black’s Run.  Something small and yellow flashed between us, and I was surprised it came so close.

It stopped and landed on a flower in one of the flower boxes:

Hello, little one.

Hello, little one.

As usual, apologies for the blurriness, but my camera is definitely not made for shooting wildlife.

He flew around again, and landed again on the same stalk:

He picked the perfect plant, too – he’s almost the same shape as the leaves, and he blends in beautifully.  Except for the black streak, of course.
